SOIRÉE //

Celebrating the past with a party for the future, a few weekends ago I attended the holiday party for my workplace. Which celebrates all of our hard work from the past year and gives us a night to enjoy ourselves and interact with all of our coworkers. Enjoying their company, while preparing ourselves for the New Year. Now this post wasn’t intentionally suppose to be the debut of my blonde hair (due to scheduling conflicts) especially since it isn’t touched up due to the fact that it has to repair itself from the continual dye jobs, but it is and it ended up looking cool with this outfit. I really enjoyed the outcome of this look because it is the perfect outfit for a night out or dinner. It is a bit on the edgier side, which I tend to lean towards because there is, always a dramatic flair to an edgy look, which I feel, creates dynamic interest and visual impact and sometimes you just want to stand out. This look does just that!

ACCEPTANCE //

Fashion is a very unpredictable market and you never know what trends are going to come out for the next season but when you do, there’s always a possibility that you may not agree with all of them since fashion is a very personal and individual type of expression. This season there has been a huge increase and popularity of Birkenstocks, now I have always stated how much that I hate them and think that they are the ugliest thing that was created and I don’t understand how anyone could wear them.

Though recently I have seen some people styling them in very cool and unique ways, and as a joke I tried some on at a store one day and realized why everyone loves them. They are one of the most comfortable shoes you will ever wear and they are extremely durable and in there own way are very fashion forward if worn correctly. So with that being said I ended up buying myself a pair and love them, I think that they’re one of those shoes that can be worn both dressy and casual. Which is why I styled them the way I did with this outfit. The look being featured is definitely the dressier look but if you were to take off the blazer and just wear the t-shirt it would be a perfect casual outfit for a Saturday outing
to go shopping.

RECEPTION //

It’s not everyday that you find someone that you would do anything for or even think about spending the rest of your life with, but when you do you never want to let them go. My cousin recently found the woman he wants to spend the rest of his life with and they got married a few weekends ago in a beautiful ceremony held at Cactus and Tropical. Which was a really cool venue that featured really cool tropical plants and with the pre knowledge of the venue and how humid it was going to be. I new that I would have to dress a bit more on the comfortable side while still being dressy since it was a wedding. So I opted for this great bandanna printed short sleeve shirt in white so I could stay as cool as possible and paired it with some stud clips and a bow-tie to keep it with that dressy feel. Overall the night was beautiful and great memories were made and the climate wasn’t as bad as I expected so the outfit and styling choices I made were perfect for the occasion.

WAXED //

Summer weddings are some of the most beautiful and picturesque moments you can witness but for a guy this could be the hardest thing to dress for, because you start to go through your head and think. Can I wear shorts, do I have to wear a blazer, how hot is it going to be, and the reason being is we only have a few options when it comes to dressing for formal events other than pants and a shirt. So the question becomes how do you find an outfit that is both comfortable and meets the dress code requirements?

Well I have figured out a few tricks to help in this situation. The first is that your outfit should work with or with out a jacket because if you were to take it off you want the same impactful impression that was there while it was on. Second remember that it is a celebration so keep it comfortable, and third be yourself. This means that if you are a classic dresser than keep to your style but if you are like me and a bit preppy/quirky then opt for a similar outfit that encompasses your personality. I chose to go with a pair of waxed jeans because they are comfortable and the wax coating makes them look more dressy than just a simple pair of jeans and I paired it with a classic white shirt with some minimal details to enhance the overall look, and of course my favorite signature pieces a bow-tie and suspenders.

AQUAMARINE //

It’s been awhile since I’ve posted because I am currently in the middle of competition season for dance and all I have been wearing is costumes and sweat pants, nothing to fashion forward. But scrolling through my pictures I found this outfit from a few weeks ago when I attended an Easter lunch at my aunt’s house. The weather was so nice that day that I went for a very simple summer look pairing this printed paisley shirt with a great colored short, and because it was outside and very casual I opted for minimal accessories wearing only a bow tie and matching belt. Allowing the look to feel very light and airy matching the weather outside perfectly.

WATERFRONT //

If you were to ask anyone where they would want to be right now, guaranteed they would say the beach. I mean the beach has so much to offer whether it’s for activities or just relaxing and walking the boardwalks. So why not get married there? Recently a friend of mine chose to get married in the Bahamas on the beach and though not everyone could make it they brought the beach back for their reception. So with the beach theme in
mind I decided to go with this outfit that I feel sums up a beach wedding in a
nutshell with a hint of Hampton's flair.

HOLIDAY LOOK // 3

Keep it sharp. Now looking sharp can be interpreted in many different ways but for me, it really comes down to looking clean. Meaning don’t look like a bum, make sure you are groomed and that your clothes and accessories match. For example in this outfit I chose to wear a gunmetal watch from Fossil, then I paired it with gunmetal collar clips. By matching the metals of my accessories it makes my outfit look cleaner and more presentable. Just remember when in doubt match it up, it will save you the headaches of trying to put an outfit together and allow you to get dressed quicker.

HOLIDAY LOOK // 2

Keep it simple. For the holiday season it’s important to remember that simple is sometimes the best option, don’t over crowd your outfit with to many prints or to many layers. This outfit is the perfect example. It’s a simple white shirt with a black blazer and bow tie. Of course you can add whatever accessories you want but keep in mind you want to simplify those as well, because I chose a really cool ring I opted out from wearing a watch. This concept is ideal for anyone because there isn’t much to it. Again make sure you add your own personality to your outfits. If you like bright colors put a bright blazer or shirt with the outfit but keep the overall theme simple with out mixing to many things together.

O.O.T.D.

"A"mazing // After looking and talking about some of my favorite trends from the spring/summer 2014 runway shows, I was getting really inspired. So I looked in my closet for some of my favorite piece and saw this A sweater that I recently bought and thought to myself "I haven’t worn this yet" but why not there are so many great ways to wear this. Resulting in this look I love how it turned out. It has a bit of a dressy look but really casual and laid back, though you can change it to be either or. If you want it to be really dressy throw on some great tailored pants and tuck the shirt in, while adding a belt. Or you can completely go even more casual adding some trainers and add like a baseball cap with just the sweater. Either way you chose to style it’s a definitely an "A"mazing look.
