FASHION WEEK TRENDS //

// ORANGE

Every season there is a color that unexpectedly stands out, giving way to be a surprise trend. This season is no different, and the color in question is orange. Now orange popped up in many collections whether it was a trim, a pop of color, or a full outfit. This is the perfect example on how to wear a season’s “it” color while still keeping your own sense of style, and all though orange can sometimes be a difficult color to wear because some shades may be to bright washing you out or to dark making you look pale. The key to know is again choosing the best version of the color for you and using it in the correct way like a scarf or accessory or as trim on your blazer. It doesn’t matter how you wear it as long as you’re comfortable in the outfit.

// PRINTED COATS

When you think of something replicated each season you think of a coat. But how do you make something that is repetitive every season, something new that you want to wear. Again it comes down to personal style, you chose things that you want to wear and in fabrics you like, and instead of going for the same old boring solid colors. This season designers went for a more individualistic approach and allowed the viewer to experience amazing coats in one of a kind prints. Now again this is not something that everyone can wear but there are different types of prints that can suit different types of men, from subtle subdued prints that almost are muted together so that from far away it look like a single color, to bold and outgoing prints that make a statement. Either way a printed coat is going to be big this season, and by choosing one that fits your style and one that you feel comfortable in will be the key to mastering this type of look.

// White and Black
 Every season in fashion has one thing that never changes and that is the use of white and black. Though every season it needs to be reinvented so that it doesn’t feel old and boring but rather new and innovating. So this season designers really took us to a new place when it comes to black and white in the use of bold geometric prints and textures. Defining looks from basic to bold in a variety of separates and unique silhouettes. Making it the most easily accessible trend to achieve this season, not only does this look amazing on everyone it also allows for individual interpretation. Whether it be casual like a white t-shirt with black jeans to an Avant Garde dress that engulfs you in a sea of fabric, or anywhere in between. White and Black can make an understated statement that draws viewers in with a single look.

// Transparency
When fashion makes you think or look at something in a completely different frame of mind then it’s doing its job by peaking the interest of the consumers this season has been no exception, though some of the trends have just been reinvented in a new way to make it more modern. Designers have really pushed the envelope when it comes to transparency this season, creating illusions that make the mind question what its really seeing. To strategically placed fabric creating the illusion of nudity to the combinations of fabrics overlaid on top of one another producing new prints and textures, transparency has brought new life into minimalistic designs by adding artistic and visual elements into everyday looks. Whether you chose to implement this into your own style with statement pieces like an evening dress or into outerwear like the vinyl coat from Burberry. This is one trend that should be on everyone’s must list, and if your not into the statement pieces make it more accessible for you by opting for a sheer top with a bandeau or a simple high low skirt.

// 20’s
The essence of the twenties just exudes the feeling of extravagance, excitement and energy. So it’s no surprise that this seasons designers pulled inspiration from those emotions and created modern pieces that were inspired by this amazing period of time during the twenties. With the opulence and craftsmanship that was beading, the delicate nature of the fringe dress, and the luxurious feeling of fur, becoming the source of inspiration but, then the question becomes how do you create pieces that look fresh and new and don’t scream costume pieces. You simplify the artistry of each element creating a refined look that is more wearable for the everyday woman and switch the silhouettes from the short boxy cut dress to longer maxi dresses or into separates and by doing that you create modern looks with a bohemian feel that you can wear on an everyday basis.
